My poor neglected blog! Not one post all summer! It's strange though now that school has started, the weather is changing, and I'm burning my fall candles, I want to blog again! I also found myself looking at the other blogs of creative ladies who inspire me yesterday. I am about to start making some Halloween cards so I guess my crafty/blogging side takes a summer vacation. I did manage to attend a couple of crops this summer but I did more talking and eating than scrapbooking!! I also found a really cool group of ladies online who share my love of accessories, pugs, scrapbooking, shopping, etc. so a lot of my online time went to posting over there. But, it's time to give my blog the attention it deserves after I spent so much time setting it up!
A couple of updates:
I will take off the links to Stampin' Up catalogs on my blog. I let that go over the summer. I still LOVE the stuff but being my own best customer isn't something I can afford with one child in college and another in private school this year. I managed to get a lot though with my discount so I'm not suffering!
Our family had a great summer. We didn't take a vacation but stayed home and enjoyed our new pool in the backyard. We aren't swimming now but Max and I still love to go sit by the pool and enjoy an adult beverage in the evenings.
"Little" Max is back in Lubbock for his sophomore year at Texas Tech. We just spent a wonderful weekend with him. His apartment looked great and so did he! I miss him so much but he is so happy with his life...he is still with Caitlin after about 2 years, has his own apartment with the random roommate he got in the dorm last year (met him finally this weekend...he's a really nice guy!), and is doing great at school.
Jenny started a new high school in August. She is attending a private Christian school and absolutely loves it! She is a varsity cheerleader and is still doing competitive cheerleading too. She stays so busy but she has always kept this kind of schedule so I don't think this will ever change.
Alex just started his third year of homeschooling! I can't believe we made it this far...lol! He is doing a virtual academy thru the state of Texas so it is basically public school at home. This also means it isn't costing me a dime! He has his own computer. printer, books, science and art supplies supplied. He also has a teacher that we communicate with online daily and speak to regularly. I am technically considered a learning coach now. I have the support of his teacher for any questions or struggles we are having. He is actually on his computer right now doing some required benchmark testing. We both really love it! It is so nice to not have to come up with curriuculum and wonder if he is staying on track with the other kids his age. I just print out the weekly plan on Sunday night, read over everything, gather materials and we are good to go!
Max is still loving his job and spent most of the summer trying to get the yard and landscaping just right. Jenny gets her "I can't sit still and do nothing" gene from her Dad!!
I am looking forward to fall which is my favorite time of year. Here's a picture from this weekend at the Texas Tech game. The band's halftime show was awesome!
